Education

India is Nayagram block in Jhargram has a population of about 1.5 lakhs. This area has been affected by Maoist and it is among the most backward areas in the country. With a strong vision to improve education facilities in the area our organization GJUBBWWC, established the first primary residential school in 1993. A school started with 35 students and  2 teachers. Today we are providing quality education to 812  students out of which 512 students are day scholars and 300 are residential ST tribal students.
Due to our effective management and Commitment towards our students, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs is aiding with yearly grants to 250 ST students. Despite the financial crunch in the past, we were able to keep our Hope and organization alive. We thank our partners, donors, and corporations who have supported us in the past and supporting us in fulfilling our novel work.

    Culture

India is a country of cultures and traditions. Our action area is a tribal-dominated region, and our prime target groups are the Adivasi, Lodha, Munda, Santal, Kurmi, Jele, etc. We are engaged in preserving folk culture through various cultural activities that have helped them regain their distinct social status in society. Our cultural wing, “Surangana Sanskriti Chakra,” runs a music school that enrolls people from different sections of society who take part in cultural functions like folk dances: Panta Nach, Bhuwang Nach, Karam Nach, Adivasi Danta Nach, Changa Nach, Chhau Dance, Mohara Dance, etc.

They learned the ways to preserve fruits and how to make Jelly and Fruit jam or pickle from these fruits.
      • Training on Fishery and Poultry Farming:  Our training Poultry helped establish 2 poultry farms in the locality and produced around 50 new job opportunities. Around 100 fishermen benefited from the Fishery Program.
